Stronger frame?

Can someone tell me if a '78-'91 3/4 ton Suburban frame is made of thicker steel than a 1/2 ton frame?

Generally, the frame outside dimensions of the C-channel are the same between 1500 & 2500 series vehicles. However, the thickness of the steel used in the frame is thicker for the 2500. :)
