I was wondering if anyone has any information into lift kits for my truck.
1993 2500HD 4X4 Manual Transmission, Long Box, Regular Cab. I am looking for a 4 or 6" lift kit, but no one seems to have them for a 8 bolt diesel. And I want suspension lift, not body. Thanks;)

A solid frt/axle conversion would be best for ya!

These trucks will run 35" dia tires w/o lift; However the outer edge of the fenders need to be trimmed & bushwacker has the cutout fender flare kit for this..................

 I actually just posted a thread asking about the difficulty level of changing to solid front. Sounds like this is my option. I am running the 35" tires right now and I did have to trim a bit because when I put them on I could only go straight. Wasn't able to steer.

So the lift kits for K1500 and K2500's are different?

Hmm, I had an offer today from one on a K1500 Yukon that if I took it off, I could have it.

The thought came accross for my K2500 Burb, it was a 4" Lift.

From what I have seen with the majority of lift kits, there is nearly nothing if you have a 8 lug setup. Due to the fact that my truck is posi and has the FF rearend, there is no way that I would want to change the axle.:D

The kit I'm looking at had blocks in the rear, no change in springs.

The front end had an extensive replacement, with new components everywhere. Some hardware that connected to the factory locations and allowed the front differential to be lowered.

I know I can fix the rear in the lifting of my own, either block or have some springs arched locally for the lift.

But the front-end stuff is what is expensive in these kits.

I am still curious as to whether the K1500 stuff is the same as the K2500, I know the front diff is slightly larger on the 2500, but maybe the kit fit both?

Hmm...

I think I'm going to take the fella up on the offer either way, it should be sellable if it doesn't fit my rig.

Have a look at THIS THREAD (http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/showthread.php?t=23569) for a nicely done SFA conversion.

crap....that is a crazy truck. I don't have that much money to do a conversion so I will probably just go with the originally offered kit.:D

Has a frt 1500 1.5" diff drop which may work w/2500 and 9.25" diff, control arm parts will not work. You may want to go to their site and view how diff drop is done and apply a custom fab setup to yours.

Past above nothing but all custom straight axle setups........................

k1500 and k2500 6-lug has the same front axle setup
the K2500 HD 8-lug is different, the differential and upper control arms are different, superlift and I think ProComp have lift systems for these trucks, there may some others aswell

I don't see any reason why the diesels should be any different from gassers in terms of suspension lift

Oooops didn't realise that this thread was quite old at first

However, if lifting these trucks I really recomend www.realiftsusp.com

Ya, I think I started this thread back when I first joined TDP. Never did the lift since, simply because something always came up. Hopefully this fall or summer. I did go into a local shop a few weeks back. Pro-Comp has a 6" lift for $1800, but I think I can get it cheaper through a "contact". :D

Since this thread was resurrected, this truck is now up for grabs on eBay... starting bid of $35k. Real nice truck.

Dude, forget ProComp. Multi-piece subframes are da debil.

Look into Tuff Country's lift. One piece subframe and lengthened knuckles means no messing with the steering and the axle can't shift around.

Much easier to install as well as there's less components to deal with and align.
