I test drove a '07 Classic LBZ today. The turbo would take a full 2 seconds before it would light. There was also a slight vibration at idle and low RPM.

Is it common for a new engine to have this kind of lag? How about the vibration?

It's emissions related. It takes burning fuel to spin the turbo, it requires boost pressure before the computer will allow much fuel - to prevent back smoke.

You'll experience this more when taking off from a dead stop than while driving. Turbo lag will diminish with more engine rpms. :)
