So I have just found out the following with my new Autoenginuity scantool

TDCO -2.46
Desired 12.0
Actual 12.0
ECT 181 DEF F

I have had the truck since last september, no codes thrown to this effect. The truck had a new engine/latest pump installed by the dealer 10,000 miles before I purchased it, so I am assuming that this is dealer timing set. As I understand it I should be seeing 3.5 Deg and -0.25 to -0.75 TDCO spec. It does not sound rough or perform poorly is this because the TDCO is compensating for the actual timing? I have also been reading about setting the timing to 8.5 Deg with a TDCO of -1.94.
So should I redo the timing and if so is the 8.5 Deg -1.94 a better place to be?

cheers
Nobby

You will likely need to move the pump toward the passenger side. Shoot for -1.94 TDCO and let the timing end up what ever it is.
