I purchased a 05 gmc 3500 6.6 lly( i believe)
i also purchased a superchip for it , now in performance mode it smokes like hell when i punch it,the chip is a huge difference, however it feels inconsistent, wasnt sure what to expect! the smoke bothers me what is it from??

the smoke is black. the power is there but lots of smoke!

Over fueling bad..............
To much fuel can/will wash down the cylinders and cause all kinds of wierd things to happen till it melts down.

It's a somewhat negative side-effect of increasing fuel delivery without also increasing boost pressure. The stock Duramax runs with an excess of air, but add fuel beyond a certain point, and it'll smoke more. Lots more fuel - lots more smoke.

There are products that allow for more boost pressure in the LLY. The "Boost Stick" from www.kennedydiesel.com (http://www.kennedydiesel.com) will help, as will custom programming.
