Has anyone heard of the injector sleaves leaking by causing the lose of coolant. the shop just installed new injectors. Afterwards it had a problem with losing coolant. they said it was a blown head gasket. When they got into it they said it was the injector sleaves leaking. Replaced one side. Problem continued they said it must be the otherside. Sounds kind of fishy. Also has anyone seen problems with head gaskets. I have not been able to find anyone who has ever removed the heads.

If the injector lifts the sleeve when being pulled it could cause issues. Not a bad idea to pull up the sleeves and reseal with any injector job. If you had not recently had injectors done I'd lean towards head gaskets which it may well still be. Are you losing coolant out the overflow and pressurizing the tank?

Or is the coolant just disappearing?

What year truck?

If it's a sleeve or head gasket, we typically see the upper rad hose get VERY hard and hold psi when cold.

More info since last posting. Coolant is being lost in the #2 cylinder on left side of engine. Injectors were replaced in Jan. Truck still smoked a little when first started. Started lossing coolant. Checked and exhaust smelled like coolant so took back to mechanic. GM Certified Mechanic and he said it was the head gasket. replaced and coolant was still losing coolant. Mechanic then replaced head gasket on other side. Still losing coolant. Went to GM dealer found teck bullitin about coolant getting into cylinder. Took to mechanic and tested found cylinder with coolant leak. Replaced sleeeves. Still leaking. Mechanic pulled head and now says head is bad. Not a happy man with GM. Any help or insite needed.
