So the wiring diagram for the lift pump that I have from Alldata for a 97 shows a Fuel Pump Prime Connector going to pin #B2 on the relay labeled '0.8RED 490'. Does such a thing exist has anyone found this used it?

cheers

There should be a loose spade-type terminal near the steering shaft/master cylinder area. If you jump this wire with +12v, the lift pump should run.

I've actually never had to use it - on my truck (I believe on all 96 and newer 6.5s with the OBD 2), the lift pump will operate when the key is turned to run, while the glow plugs are cycling.

After a fuel filter change, I'll let the glow plugs cycle (lift pump run), then crack open the bleeder on top of the filter. You can hear the puff of air release. Doing this a couple of times usually does the trick.

Hope this helps.

Joe.
