Lil Red - Top dog at USDieselParts.com's first annual Dyno Day... :D

There were two runs - one at 500+ and then at 632 (with significant tire slip - you can hear the tires in the video). Click Here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=4-2pPGzVQ8o) to see the 632 run vid. :)

We also ran a factory fresh Ford and Chevy (new emissions) - see above... Impressive.... Hope to run a new Dodge in a few days.... Couldn't quite make the connections for yesterday.

Thanks to USDP for producing a great first event!

Wow! I assume there was a healthy dose of NOS on top of copious fuel....

Yes.... NOX... ;)

Last year, I asked Kennedy for an ECM that included a switchable street tune and another for the track/dyno - that would produce 600 (w/nitrous). JK developed the tunes, both of which run to within a few % of what I asked for. :) A set of custom tunes is definitely the way to go.... I had tried many different combos of boxes & programmers, but couldn't get above 508.

I wanted to maintain the factory turbo, factory injectors and factory head bolts, and not go so far as to risk breaking stuff. I'm also running the Banks BigHead wastegate actuator and JK's boost valve. This combo produces about a 35 psi boost max.

Since I don't have an OD lockout, we set the record window on the Mustang dyno for a wheel speed of 65-85 mph, which coincides with 4th-gear (3.42 diff gears). Sitting in the passenger seat, I activated the nitrous at 65 then off at 85 (happens quick!). The smoke mostly went away while the nitrous was on, and you can see the nitrous hit by the way the truck reacts. Wheel speed ran to over 100-mph at the end of the run.

The Mustang dyno uses an OBD-II cable that plugs into the truck's OBD port, to record engine rpm and other stuff. Max power came at 2867-RPM and at 75.0-MPH (632.3 HP), max torque came at 2784-RPM and 72.0-MPH (1167.9 lb-ft).

A woman with a 2002 Dodge was the hi-roller with 576 - up to the point we ran Lil Red. :D She was a good sport....

Nice run...

I am assuming the 08 Chevy that made 332 was a 2007 stock LMM?? If so that isn't a bad run for a completely stock truck...

I like how it is more than the 08 Ford. :D

Yes, the Chevy was a 2007i (new emissions GMT-900) truck that was right off a local dealer's lot.

The dyno results for all the vehicles that ran last Saturday are now available on USDP's Club Dyno web site (http://www.clubdyno.com/DynoDayResults.cfm).

They listed Lil Red as a 98 cuz the Mustang dyno computer wouldn't accept the correct model year (1989) as an OBD-II.

Someone else had a video camera that day as well. See the youtube video (http://www.clubdyno.com/ViewPhoto.cfm?id=Picture-128).

I'll have more of the story along with more photos on the page before long.

Congrats!:D I bet your rods are shaking in their boots...(or flexing under load in this case) How many 600+ runs have you made?

Jim,

I'm sure others who have been here a long time know what you have under the hood of that 89, but your profile doesn't list anything. What am I looking at? You put a Duramax in an S10? I can't really tell from the picture. What is your setup? Thanks!

Nice run MP. It has at least 100 more ponies in her with that JK tune.

BMDMAX - Thanks! Yes, it's nearly 130 more since the last dyno - maybe more if the tires had a better grip on the rollers... :)

Phil, the truck is a 1989 Silverado K1500 (4x4 full-size) Sportside. It weighs just under 5K with two batteries, full LT interior, A/C, and audio system.

DD, only a few... Though I don't think 600+ is all that stressful... :)

I find it very interesting that the GM duramax combo seems to have a more effecient drive train then the Ford. They don't lose as much horse power than the Ford or then the Ford has exagerated hp numbers.:D
