Let me rephrase the question. Can the exhaust manifold of a 1997 hummer fit the 6.2 in a 1983 3/4 ton 4x4?

To simply answer your questions in whole, no.

The manifold will fit the head. The flange will not match the pipe. If you are planning to build an exhaust system from scratch, from the manifold back, you can. You will have some clearance issues, but nothing that can't be worked around. I don't know of any "store bought" exhaust system that will work w/o some modifications.
