Just wondering if a plugged CDR would cause the valve cover to pressurize and leak. I just had the valve cover off and I really did my best to seal it properly. I even let the silicone dry overnight on it. When I first started the truck it ran okay, but after a run down the road, it really started to leak. A little frustrating to say the least!

Surf on over to Heath Diesel for a proper quickie CDR\blowby test procedure - it's fun, it's easy, it's entertaining.

Try it - you'll like it...................

I went there but I couldn't find anything to check against.

A plugged CDR could do this, but it's doubtful that this is your issue. It would have to be packed full of crap. The CDR is so darn simple and failure is very rare. If you built up enough gunk to plug it you have bigger problems.

My suggestion is to pull the cover, check for flatness, clean and reseal, but don't tighten the bolts, just push the cover down gently and run the bolts down a little so that you don't push the silicone out of the junction. After it cures you can snug the bolts a bit.
