View Full Version : PullRite Hitch?
I'll be driving my new Silverado "Calssic" back to Kansas in August to pick up my new 15K GVWR 'NEW HORIZONS' 34' 5ver. NEW HORIZONS installs the hitch as part of the sale, and they plan on installing a PullRite 20.5K Hitch in the bed.
I haven't begun to research hitches yet, so can any of you "Veterans" shed some light on the 'PullRite' brand?
Thanks as always....:D

We pull a 35ft. Hitchhiker that is in the same weight range as your getting. We also have the 20.5. The hitch is the best and safest you can buy as far as I am concerned. When you hitch up with it there is no doubt that it is latched in. As far as I know it is the only one that wraps around the pin. You will be very happy with it. Good luck on your new rig.

Ray,
Does the PullRight eliminate pin clatter? Does it lock down tight to the hitch?

Not sure what you mean by pin chatter. The only thing that I can say is that there is absolutely no negative comments that I can make about this hitch. If I didn't have one, I would buy one. I do use a teflon ring between the hitch plate and the pin. I did a lot of research on this before I bought one and I am glad I did. I almost bought an air bag unit but decided it was too much money. I already had air bags under my truck and I thought maybe the two might be too wishy-washy. I orginally ordered our trailer with the Trailair pinbox but cancelled this also for the same reason. Our rig rides fantastic. We had a tag trailer of 30 ft. prior to getting our 5er. Our experience with the California cement segmented roads was terrible. After changing over to a fifth wheel and using the setup we have now I couldn't be happier. No more bucking. When we bought our truck, I never was happy with the height of it when unloaded. I couldn't get up in the bed without a step ladder. I'm old. I talked to one of my customers at 4 Wheel Parts and he suggested this. I removed the overload springs, installed 4" extended shackles, and added Firestone air bags. The truck now sits level when unloaded and I run 50 psi in the bags when the 5er is hooked up. I am happy with the setup. It works. If we ever go to a heavier trailer I will re-install the overloads but leave everything else the way it is. We are getting ready to go full-time RVing so I am thinking about a medium duty or heavy duty truck and a bigger 5er but I won't make that decision until we have lived in ours for a while. Hope this long post answers your questions. If not, email me at likearock@socal.rr.com.
