2500SD?? Never heard of one.

Now, if you have a 2500HD.....
Helper springs are fine if you are loaded all the time. Once unloaded, the ride will be harsh, to put it mildly. Airbags are a much better option. They are adjustable according to your load, and can be deflated for empty driving. I tow a 14K 5'er, and have Airlift airbags. The before/after difference is night and day. Control and ride quality improved leaps and bounds, loaded and empty.

Air bags are the way to go the only thing I did not care for is they raised the rear another 5/8"-3/4" just being installed with only 5 psi air in them.
And they stiffen up the ride a little(empty) but I dropped the air in the rear tires 6-8 psi to 44 psi with the E rated tires.
44 psi on the rear does not hurt a bit when empty and that helped the ride,I run 60 psi on the fronts.
But make sure you raise the air pressure to at least 70 lbs on the rear if you have E rated tires when loaded.
