Hi all, I actually have a few questions, but will ask seperatly as I continue to search. I searched and searched for the id/information on the prechamber cups, and can't seem to find it again. This is in regards to the build I am doing. I had four heads total, all matched the eight digit casting numbers, although two had the little kidney shaped coolant hole near the end, and the other two did not. SInce the eight digit numbers all matched, I presume I can mix and match accoridng to the DP book I bought and the article contained in that described heads. Two of the heads had cracked, one around the prechamber, the other between valves. I realize the valve issue is pretty common and fixable, and will probably keep it just in case. THe other with the prechamber crack was a set of Military heads that came off the engine I bought at auction (no extra coolant passage) SO the Military heads had three dots on the cups and the Civy heads had two dots. THe shape of the holes are different too. One of the three dot (military) cups was damaged (the one in the hole with the crack) on extraction. THe others apear fine. Can someone direct me to the article that has information regarding the cups, and the differences in performace/mileage? THis engine I am building is to be a durable long lasting one, not ultra hp (N/A all the way) THanks for any info!

Go to the members area and you can look up the article on the Recardo comet precups.
The little small ported precups from the early 6.2 will give the mileage and the large ported units from the late TD will give the power

The article I refered to has a Piccy of all the different ones available.

Good luck

Hey Robyn,
Thank you for the referral. That is indeed the article I can remember, but I just can't find it. I have checked the members area twice now and still can't locate it. Sorry to be such a bafoon about this. Not certain if the two options (three dots or two) will make much difference. Thanks again!

I have scratched around and cant find the article that had nice pix of all the combinations of heads/precups ect.
Drop Jim a PM and Im sure he can give you a link to the article.
I have found some references to it but the links are dead.
The recent update may have taken it out of regular access to members????

Drop Jim Or Greg a PM and ask???
