Folks

I am trying to remove the DB-2 IP from my 83CC.

It is stuck. All bolts and nuts are removed, and the unit will not release from its home. Won't even rotate to advance or retard the timing.

GIven that the prior owner buttered practicly everything that has or needs a gasket with RTV, I am suspicious of the IP gasket.

Any ideas on how to release the IP from its mount?

Currently, there are no bolts holding it in place.

Thank You

You've got:

Injection lines removed
Injection pump to timing cover nuts off (3).
Injection pump drive bolts to injection pump driven gear removed (3).
Cruise control, throttle cable, return line, etc.

No move?

It's possible that the pump is wedged in the hole on the timing cover, or the center of the injection pump to the IP driven gear in the timing cover.

Worst case if it won't budge, you'd have to remove the waterpump plate and waterpump and have a physical look at what's happening.

best of luck!

Got the IP freed from its mount point. Prior owner buttered the IP gasket with RTV.

I found a factory pry point that popped it free. Easy after that.
