I came here a few years back, looking for assistance with a 1994 K3500 6.5L plow truck. Since then, we have purchased, used and traded another matching 1994 K3500 6.5, a 2005 K2500 crew, a 2001 K2500HD, a 2003 K3500 6.0L gasser. Here is the fleet - as of today. More info at www.MREMarine.com (http://www.MREMarine.com) or www.markrinkerenterprises.com (http://www.markrinkerenterprises.com) I have quite literally built a business around what has been learned here at TDP.

Mark,

Any future employment opportunities with MRE for a guy with a Duramax truck and a possible wish for a change of employment? I have been fixing cars all my life, or at least since I was 13 years old. I'm looking for a possible change in scenery. I live in Southern California and own an auto repair shop here but am seeking some options for my future. Thanks! You can e-mail me privately if you wish at pacphil@verizon.net. My company website is www.philsautoonline.com to get an idea what I have been doing since 1984.

Hey, you never know - but in the mean time, here is a good place for 'Hotshot Haulers' to get started small - then grow into something bigger...

www.UShip.com (http://www.UShip.com)

As I have posted recently, every time diesel fuel goes up in price, the validity of moving 10K loads of cargo behind light duty trucks increases. To do it for a living, you still have to play by the DOT rules, get proper insurances, etc. but you could start out supplementing your income with some 'paid for vacations' by hauling small stuff for hire, well under the radar. (Motorcycles, <=18'-20' boats on thier own trailers, household goods, etc.)

YOU GO DUDE :D:D

I have been running class 8 stuff now since 91 and been in a heavy hauler since the spring of 92.
There is just nothing like trucking.

Double clutching boots, Chain drive wallet, ya just gotta love it :D:D
At least it sounds good. Never had much use for the chain and the huge pocket book.
Sneakers or light hikers are more my style though.:)

Close to 2 million miles in the capn's chair of a big rig now.

Patience is starting to wear thin in many areas. Too many govnt agencies still think truckers are rich and can just pay pay pay.

Good luck for the winter season, hope it brings you a lot of business.

Be safe my friend
