I thought I would post what I learned last week about the DS4 Injection Pump.

I was talking to the tech at the local Stanadyne repair shop. He said every pump he rebuilds gets a new PMD. They are so problematic that he puts a new one on every one. I managed to get 2 used ones for nothing after I bought a new one. He also said there are different part numbers or revisions of the PMD. Supposedly, they have improved the reliability.

Another interesting factoid. When he calibrates the pump after a rebuild, the fuel he uses must be at 113*F before he can do the calibration.

I have not read any of this on this forum before. I thought I would pass it along in case it is useful to anyone.
