New to Forum...Question about Firm Shifts

Hello all!! I'm obviously new to the forum and I'm sure will be swamping this place with lots of questions!!

I currently own an '05 Duramax and have some questions regarding the "stiffness" of the shift points and was wondering if it's "normal."

As far as upgrades, my truck has a 6" RCD lift with 35s, a Stage 2 AFE, MBRP exhaust and a Hypertech Programmer (soon to be an Edge Juice w/ Attitude).

It just seems like my truck has really stiff/hard shifts compared to my 6.0 liter 2500HD (which has the shift firmness installed via Hypertech). Am I paranoid or is this an issue?

You're comparing apples to oranges. 6.0 with a 4L80E vs the Dmax/Allision 1000. How does the Allison shift w/o the Hypertech programmer?

Understood.

Without the Hypertech it also shifts much "rougher" than I'm use to and seems to sorta drop in rpms. I really haven't driven other Duramaxes so I don't have much to compare mine to.
