Hi all, I know from asking and reading the top end (toward the rocker arm) of the pushrod is supposed to be marked with a copper-ish coloring. I can see something of the sort on mine, but am not certain if this is what I am supposed to see. There is also a small dimple in some of the ends, but the dimple does not always correspond to the copper-ish looking end.
I have attempted to upload and attach four files. Actually, I tried five, but am not much good at this. ANyway, one is pushrod labeled, that I hope allows the viewing of the dimples and the copper-ish color on one of the ends. If someone could tell me that this is indeed the proper color I am looking for that goes to the rockers, that would be great! The other three pics are of my build. THe one of the mains is not very good cause I messd it up, but it should show all the ARP studs and the 4130 girdle. THe girdle is not as hard-core by any stretch as some I have seen by much better builders than myself, but it is my attempt to come up with somehting better than the one I bought that covers just 2-4. Anyways, all input is greatly appreciated, this project is ONLY happening becuase of the folks on this list!! It is going into my 89 Jeep Grand-wagoneer (FSJ). THanks again!

Yes the ends of the push rods that have that color go up towards the rockers.
Dont pay any attention to the dimples.

Good luck

When I had my engine apart, I looked for something - anything - that would indicate that the pushrods had different ends. I found nothing. Both ends were the same color - neither had a "copper" look to them.

Thanks for the great info. Hopefully, the picture will help others. I really did not know what to look for in terms of copper color. now I do! Thanks to you!

Got the heads ready to go on this weekend. Can't wait. Gonna get the pump into the shop, along with the injectors. Now the tranny!

THanks again!
