I took apart my turbo thats going to be installed on the new engine for my 95 burb. Since I took it all apart I noticed a red sealant that is used on the compressor side that seals to the rest of the turbo. For those that have taken this off when installing intercoolers for example, what did you use to re-seal the turbo? I'm concerned about soil entering the clean air side of the turbo if not properly sealed or bleeding off boost, I haven't removed the existing stuff off yet, but want to. Thanks!

IHI is about the only one that does this. My best guess is that they do it because the crankcase vent enters before this point and oil will weep and make a big mess. A little hi temp silicone sealer will handle it.

I used high temperature RTV.
