I just got here, so hi to everyone,, I guess what brought me here is that I have an overheating LLY and I have had it for a while 46,000mi. I had not experienced any real overheating until I was in the MT's the last couple of week, and I was really done away with. I thought I had and indestructable Chevy Duramax., HA..ha.. I don't think there is anything I can do so far as GM is concerned, they act real no chaulaunt, like they never knew of such a thing? Maybe I just want to know what the best thing to do is? Is there a real fix or do I just have to keep an eye out for places to stop and cool off?

Start out by filling out your signature with some detailed truck info (year/make/model/options/mods/stuff towed) and then some more detail on what circumstances led up to your overheating.

By searching this forum, you'll find lots of ideas and successes on solving LLY overheating issues...you aren't alone, don't be a victim!

I have the 2005 Duramax LLY and the overheating is suppose is the radiator, the temp gauge went all the way over when I was going up a Mt road I guess probally about 8% grade. I tow a 32' Fifth wheel Camper, gross weight around 10 T Lbs. I guess it was the outside temp was about 90deg., I have seen the TD-EOC but I wanted to see if GM would do anything first. I have to get used to all this stuff here so be patient with me...

This may or may not be part of your solution. Just a thought. Do your own research first.

I do believe that there is a new calibration that goes along with that new style air filter housing assembly as well. ;)
