On my third set of belts, the last set was installed 3,000 km ago. It was supposed to be the new no squeak type from GM.

Guess what ????

Sqeaking again.

P.S. all the pulleys have been repalced also.

Any ideas are more than welcome.

are you leaking something like antifreeze? that stuff on a belt makes it squeak like a pig.

Ok........ When does the belt squeek/ squeel? At idle or on shut down. If on shut down then all is normal. There is a GM bulletin for that. If all the time then you have another issue. Does this help?

try useing some 180 grit sand paper on the back of the belt where the colored label is printed on it. see if that helps.

As long as it's running it's squeaking. When they installed the last set it quit for about 1500 km. Now it's back again.

I'll try the sandpaper on the back.

I had a similar problem what I did was took all the pulleys off and repacked them with grease. Now you have to be careful because they are a sealed bearing but if you take your time you can pop the seal open and repack them. I only opened the one side forced it threw even if your pulleys are new they may be lacking grease. Worked for me.

A hypodermic needle attached to a zert fitting is
available to relubricate sealed bearing, works very well.

:D Hey Onebigcanuck!! Check your "HOTMAIL" account. I sent you a couple of bulletins about the belt noise. One is of course the updated belt and the other is about the P/S pump pulley alignment. :D

Ok, try your other e-mail. I wonder if the Hotmail is deleting my unsolicited mail that I am trying to send you (the bulletin)?
