This will be my first winter with my 1999 suburban 2500 with a 6.5 TD and I want to know what I should do to get it ready for winter. I have only put 6000 miles on it over the summer and have only had to change the oil, have the A/C and breaks fixed, but with cold weather around the corner I would like to make sure it is ready.

Hello

Do the same as you would for a gasser. Check coolant for the freeze point.
Be sure the batteries are good and the cables and such are all clean and tight.

Be sure your serp belt is good.
Make sure the fuel filter is clean and free of water.
If the glow plugs are originals a fresh set would be a good investment.

Just the usual preventive maintenance.

Winter takes a big toll on batteries and the summer kills hoses and such.

Good luck
