I have a 2007.5 lmm duramax 2500. I want to remove my dpf and add a performace chip and exhaust. I want my truck to smoke. Does anyone know if this is possible.
why would you want to make it smoke?
If you think it makes it look cool when you take off at full throttle and blow a big cloud of black smoke, it would be easeir to sell that truck and get a non-LMM truck, maybe a dodge, they are easy to overfuel and get lots of black smoke(wasted power)....
there's not a lot of aftermarket support for LMM yet, but wait a few months, I'm sure a lot more stuff will appear soon as companies figure a way around the DPF.

Sure put a dpf & cat delete exhaust on it & use efi live to overfuel it.
Why ? black smoke = unburnt fuel

Buy an old beater with bad rings, it'll smoke. Seriously though, wasting $3.25 a gallon diesel aint cool. Some folks have more $$ than sense.

Try removing the LMM and install a L65!!! LOL :D :D :D
You really don't get much smoke from the LMM unless you do a poor tune. With a stock transmission, you can't hold that kind of power though. I've helped out quite a few LMM owners with the DPF delete idea and the results have been excellent so far...

I wish diesel was $3.25 here....it is $3.59

Yeah I was being conservative in that estimate. It's $3.29 at the local truckstop, or $3.35,
I usually get mine from Murphy Oil @ Wal-Mart, cheaper, cause they never bother to change the diesel price when it goes up. It was a good $.20/gal cheaper for about 2 weeks after the last big run up :)

Even when my 02 LB7 was piped and chipped it still did not smoke......never wanted it to.
It ran like a vet but it did not smoke.
