I've done some searching around on the net and can't turn up any products. Does anyone know of any upgrades to the slave cylinder for the NV4500 in GM applications?

After replacing mine when the plastic coupler for the hydraulic line broke off of the old one and being amazed at how much plastic is in the whole assembly, I'm looking at options.

For off-roading, I can just see smacking the whole thing on a rock and losing the ability to shift being entirely too easy of a proposition.

Conversions to other vehicles - Jeeps, Land Cruisers, and such - there seem to be a number of options to use masters and slaves from those vehicles, but I haven't found anything that works with the stock GM setup.

Have you tried Novak conversions (http://www.novak-adapt.com/)? I used one of their kits on my Jeep. The slave was a cast piece, IIRC from a Toyota Landcrusier, but they remachined the mount.

This was all that I could find on their site:

Different bellhousing than what is stock.

As the NV4500 first appeared in '93, I figured that there wasn't an "earlier" vintage with a more robust slave cylinder. But wasn't sure if someone had found a direct fit from some other application.

Looks good. Do they offer a master cylinder too? So the master doesn't become the WEAK link?
