I recently installed Edge Juice w/attitude on my 04.5 LLY, no other mods yet. Driving when engine is cold/cool I get a knocking under a load (going uphill) then disappears. Doesn't do it when it reaches operating temps. Happens on level 1 & 3. I'm pretty cautious about warming up engine before putting a load on it.
Thanks for your help.

I have never run the Edge, but two or three other programmers and tunes. Have experienced noises I don't like when on higher levels in the winter, or when warming up and under load. More fuel + more advance = more diesel noise. I started all three of my trucks this morning at about 27 degrees, and noticed how much noiser they all were - two of the three bone stock factory programming.
Personally, I'd leave it off or on the lowest level possible until you are a full operating temps. You might also experience the same thing when outside air temps get really cold as well, even when the engine is warm.
These engines are plenty sturdy - don't panic. Its the knocks that never go away you have to worry about... :)

Thanks Mark. I have never heard noise when up to temp, so I hoped it was minor.

I know older edge stuff didnt make any more power untill it reached 180*, poss what your hearing is the added fuel timeing. Have you added a good dose of injector cleaner lately ? its not a bad idea .

I run Stanadyne Performance in every tank. I have version 1.2 Edge also.
Thanks again for the help.
