What are each set of wires on this filter housing for? It is from an 1986 6.2 military van.

Heater (left) and WIF (water in fuel sensor).

IIRC, the differential pressure switch, which also triggers the WIF lamp. Most of the ones I've seen didn't have this. Don't know if it's M/Y specific, or model specific.

They are for a vacuum switch in the filter base, it senses when the filter gets plugged and turn the water in fuel light on. GM did away with that feature in 1990.
