Has anyone here put a banks kit on a full military engine yet without having to move the passenger side alternator? Does everything fit with the stock military dual alternator set up and everything else under the hood? I have a 1985 cucv m1008 1.25 ton pickup I want to put the Banks set up on. And at last, is their a noticeable power increase? Thanks

IIRC, the primary alternator on the passenger's side is just a little larger in size than what was used on civlian rigs. The civilian rigs also had AN alternator on the passengers side.

Your rig will also have one on the drivers side, which is the main thing that is different.

I don't see a problem with a Banks turbo setup on a CUCV 6.2L.

There is an article floating on the 'net about a Banks install on an M1008 truck, it may even be linked on Banks' website (I think it is). This article showed the install and had some before and after commentary.

The difference?

Yes, you'll certainly feel it, almost night and day.

Also, a member by the handle of Brittanic had this same truck and installed the turbo and was quite pleased.

I did it, didnt have to move anything. I have the early style banks kit that places the turbo far forward on the passenger side.
