:mad:when i tried to start my truck last night it acted like the starter wire wasn't connected very good, so i tightend it up a little more and it still acted like it was wrong. so i went out this ,morning and it rolled over, but i couldn't get it to stay running. i can smell the fuel, and it will run off starting fluid, so my ? is, do you think the fuel is gummed a little, or do you think i should leave it plugged in longer, it is low on fuel, but i have a 1/4 tank or so, and there is no fuel additive in it. thanks guys

DONT RUN THE ENGINE ON ETHER, you will kill your glow plugs or cause other damage if they come on.
Safe starting aid is "dry silicone spray"
sounds like fuel gelling, or could be ice crystals blocking the filter.
I'd put a bottle of diesel911 in the tank. I doubt the lines gelled up, but the filter is another story.
leave it plugged in longer and if the issue doesnt resolve itself get a new fuel filter and fill it with fresh diesel.

Mine will not stay running in the winter unless it has a ''winter'' fuel additive in it. My troubles don't show up until about 0 degrees. I have never been to Wisconsin but it must be pretty cold there by now. Most members here say they get better fuel mileage with it also. Plugging it in always helps it start easier. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

well i figured out one of the batteries wouldn't hold a charge, and the other one only had about 8 volts so i think i found out what could be my problem. i'm getting 2 new batteries wednesday morning before work. also what kind of additive should i get. i have some lucas additive that says it's good for diesels too, but i'm kinda leary since i put it in my gasser. my buddy who has a deramax says he uses POWER SOURCE ADDITIVE and notices a difference, but again i know you guys know what's the best. thanks
