View Full Version : Where to get oil bypass valves

My GM dealer says the oil bypass valves (the ones pressed into the passages on the oil filter pad) are no longer available. Do any vendors or anyone else know where I can get them? Otherwise, I will have to make adapters to use the smaller diameter valves used in the 4.3 V6 and (I believe) the newer LS-type engines...

Thanks,
Greg

What would GEP do?

Well, either they have a source for the original large-diameter valve, or they are machining the new blocks to accept the smaller one.

Try P/N 25014006 with your dealer. It's available. Block uses two of them. I purchased a set for an old 6.2 I had. It needed two different sizes but both were available and they also had the special cap/plug that covered the one recessed into the block.

Those are the part # I have. They are smaller in diameter, and simply fall into the holes in the block. It's no big deal - I will make adapters out of a couple expansion plugs.
