Thanks for the response Redbird (i even went inside the house and put my shirt on backwards)
I have the starter disconnected from the truck except the wires, i loosened the battery cable to hopefully let it drop down a bit, but the other 2 wires are holding it up, can someone tell me where these wires end up and maybe i can disconnect them from the top and drop it down a little.

Jack up the rig and remove the RH front wheel.
Remove the little rubber flap on the inner fender. Access to the wires and the front starter bracket are now vewry easy to access without a fight.
You can simply undo the wires and the bracket and then drop the starter down and out.
Replace the starter and bolt up to the engine and then reinstall the wiring.
This is by far the easiest way to get this done without a fight.

The RH glow plugs can also be accessed this way too as can the manifold bolts and a few other things.
The litle plastic push plugs that hold the rubber flap in place can be had from the local parts house.

Good luck

Pull the right front tire, Remove the rubber flap on the fender inner liner. The starter should be easily reached, You may need to bend the heat shield up to see the solenoid. The starter supportg bracket bolt is easily reached from this location.

You didn't say whether you have and automatic or a hand shaker. If it is manual, be VERY VERY VERY Careful with the line to the slave cylinder. The clutch master and slave are plastic and the line is metal. ANY strain on the line and the cylinders will crack. If not right away in the very near future. The lines are held in with a small roll pin. A finish nail and channel locks makes for easy removal.
