does anyone know where to get a complete (ball joints, pitman/idler arm, tie rod ends, center link) front steering system rebuild kit?

I haven't ever seen a "kit" including all that. But I am guessing ball joints would be in another group compared to pitman - tierods. I bought each piece seperate (I did all but ball joints). A "quantity" discount would be nice though.

Time vs money you could shop for best price individually might beat a kit price too.

While typing & thinking I might have seen something in JC Whitney for older trucks??? But I would buy OEM or better quality parts for this stuff for a daily driver.

i just had a sick idea to convert to a rack and pinion. if that could happen...

I have a new, in box idler arm and pitman arm, purchased from NAPA that I will sell. I lost the receipts, had the whole job done and still have the parts. Let me know if interested. Email to jeffrey.todd'at'gmail'dot'com

I would stick with Moog parts.

The notion isn't sick [good racks have no slop]
but the conventional wisdom is that worm drive steering mechanisms are desirable on vehicles of more than about 3500lbs, because they afford more mechanical advantage. So that when the power assist is lost on a worm drive box, you at least have a chance.

good point tom. my first personal truck was a 1967 small window leaf rear with no power steering. i totally love no power. it really gives a lot of input feedback. not to mention powerful arms.

Try Northern Auto Parts...

They will put together a front end kit for most vehicles. And, they have MOOG parts.
