Under Hood Gauges

I've used the search engine but have not found other attempts at installing a gauge for lift pump pressure and vacuum pump pressure. I've been trying to find a solution that gave good readings with a cold or hot engine. I tried doing this with 1.5" and 2" gauges that were filled with a dampening fluid (Glycerin or Silicone). The gauges gave good readings at cold engine temperatures and with an ambient temp in the 60 to 80 degrees F. Once the engine heated up the 0-15 psi gauge read 0psi and the vacuum gauge read -10 in-hg with the engine turned off. I finally realized that the only way the gauges were going to function properly was to go to 2.5" gauges that can be vented at the fill port. The attached photos show the end result and I'm very happy with the results. So far the gauges give very accurate readings regardless of engine temp and ambient temps from 25 to 75 degrees F. I put a 1/4" tee in the line used to purge the filter housing. I replaced the whitish vacuum line with 1/8" vacuum hose (1/8" wall). I used .170 brass vacuum fittings to marry to all existing fittings. I have spring clips but have not seen the need to install them as the fittings are snug in all locations. The gauges are Wika and were purchased online as was all the associated hardware (McMaster-Carr).

Nice job on install and a clean engine bay. Just curious why you ony want gauges under the hood and not visible while driving. For instance I run a fuel pressure gauge on my A piller and it dances around a lot according to my right foot and rpm's. And what I look for is if the fuel guage drops too near zero under any circumstance. Idling it never gets close but driving sometimes it dips near.

Thanks, I already have boost and EGT gauges on the A pillar. From what I understand the lift pump presure drops at higher RPMs. I put them under the hood to check the two pumps and OP switch on a daily basis.

Can anyone tell me how to show the attachments vs having to click on each one? Thanks

The proper way to mount any fuel pressure gauge is with a "fuel pressure gauge isolator" outside engine bay it costs about $115. USD for isolator.

This isolator stops fuel before firewall and feeds pressure tap via non-flammable fluid to gauge mounted inside of cab for reading FPG.

One forum member has made a fuel pressure tap like the Dura Max motor has @ 6.5 fuel water bleed fitting, he posted pictures and parts information herein, but I forget which forum?
