I'm in a bit of a situation with my Jeep build up. When I started the thought process of a diesel swap 4 years ago, I wanted to go Cummins 4BT, but ended up scoring a free 6.2 engine and built it up. Now that I just finished tacking the motor mounts into place, I scored a 4BT and weighing my options.

I want to see if there is any interest in this motor.

Bored .030. Balanced rotating assembly, DSG stud girdle kit, timing gears, rebuilt/turned up IP, new harmonic balancer, rebuilt heads, new water pump, new 6.5 gear reduction starter, 6.5 turbo intake/exhaust manifolds, stock 6.5 turbo(condition unknown, it spins), 2 3/8" stainless exhaust manifold spacers(or header flanges) so the manifolds will clear the injectors. Enigine was assembled just over 1 year ago. Never run. I have religously rotated the engine by hand on a weekly basis. All brackets and pulleys included. I do not remember if I purchased a new crank pulley, so assume not.

I have 2 flywheels for manual trans. I also have a "fresh" TH400...although I don't know it's true condition.

I never totalled up the receipts, 'cause I just don't want to know. I'm guessing over $3500 into it.

Looking to get $2500.

If interested PM me, email at poolworks@comcast.net, or call me at 215-704-7060

Located in Richboro, PA 18954. Transportation negotiable.

Sorry for the crappy pics. They are the only ones I have right now.

Those are great pics! The 4BT is sweet, but have you driven a vehicle with one? If not, I'd ask those who have how they are to drive. Generally, they are a low rpm engine that is governed at 2700-rpm or so - maybe lower, producing a fairly narrow operating range. Depending on gearing and transmission selection, drive-ability will be somewhat different than the 6.2. Better or worse could depend on the rest of the drivetrain and your use of the vehicle.

Either way, post some pics of the completed rig when you're finished!

The only reason I'm throwing this 'feeler' out there, is 'cause I can use the $$cabbage$$. At the same time, I don't want to give it away. It might just end up in my nephew's '69 Checker Wagon. It would be plug and play with the TH400 I obtained with the Cummins. We'll see.

Well, it's up to eBay now. Hopefully it will sell.

From the looks of the pic's that looks good, I wish I could afford to buy it, my 6.5 crank broke, and this looks like it would drop in with no problems.

Only 3 hours left and no bids. It will make a nice doorstop in my garage I guess.

Shame that didn't sell. Nice looking engine. You might want to look into freight shipping in your area and then re-post the engine one ebay. If I was looking for an engine the only reason why I wouldn't of bought yours is the lack of shipping. I've never dealt with the hassle of freight shipping, but I bet some of the custom automotive places near you could point you in the right direction. Good luck and have fun with the 4bt.

I'm a bit discouraged by the total lack of interest in this engine. I can't even imagine what shipping would cost, between the engine itself and all the extras. It might be time to part it out.
