First off, Welcome to TDP :D

Now my condolences for your loss :(

Ma General is thebest place to get a proper replacement part. Ebay is not a bad spot to shop but you may or may not get a part that is exactly right.

Good luck with the fix.

Oh and Im sure the clown that hit you left his/her number too, ?? Uh HUH

Been there done that. Had the whole side wiped off of an 86 Burb that was only 2 weeks old in a parking lot, and not so much as an Im sorry note left and nobody saw anything.

Goodto have you on board.

best

Welcome aboard!

Ma General = the GM store. You can go local, but cost is usually the stopper. There's a lot to be said for a 1000% markup.

Other options:
Local body shop. They should be able to locate OEM parts, as well as acceptable aftermarket parts. They're in bed with insurance companies, so many parts they use are not OEM, but parts acceptable to the insurance co. The parts you need are probably going to be OK in any form, as long as they fit and appear OEM.

www.gmpartsdirect.com -- This is a GM store with an internet storefront. Check their collision parts catalog. If you don't find it listed, use their contact page to send your vehicle info and parts request, and be sure to include your VIN. They will most often be less than 50% of your local GM store for the exact same GM OEM part.

Be careful with Ebay. Things are not always as they seem.

I had a hit and run in the parking lot of my apartment building a few years ago, the police were completely useless on it, smaller town nothing better to do anyway and they still did nothing, there were fragments of the other guys tail lights even, well I did some snooping around myself and 2 days later I found the car the fragments came off of, still had a broken out tail light I called the police back and they came to check it out, eventually I got paid by the guys insurance.

Brings to mind a little incident that happened to me a LOOOOOOOOOOOng tiome ago.
Was the summer of 76 and my F250 was near new. We had just dropped ther 427 cammer under the hood and had installed a custom made winch bumper that had a chunk of 110 pound railroad iron formed around the front to make it heavy as well as protect the truck.
I was heading through an intersection here locally when some clown ran the light and clipped my front bumper with a new Cadillac Eldorado.

Ther gory details will be spared, but there was lots of caddy parts strung all over the street.
They just dont make bumpers like that one. :D
