Hello all
If I bypass the op switch for the fuel pump to run all the time is that bad for the injection pump? (I understand it is a safty feature to shut off the fuel in case of a accident) Also how much fuel pressure is normal for the 1997 6.5 td 3500 4x4 automatic. I'm thinking it is about 4-7 psi?

Thanks

Larry

The only bad part of the idea is the safety issue. A real bad idea, and not legal. Otherwise, the pump will run "all the time" anyway. Any time there is oil pressure, the pump is running. It does not cycle or shut off during operation, unless something is broken. 4-7 PSI is normal.

A few years ago I had asked JK about fuel a pressure gage. IIRC, JK told me at that time I might be surprised at actual fuel pressure. At idle it will see 4lbs to 7lbs, but at speed it will drop to almost 0lbs.
