Hello Fellow Diesel Nuts,
I am currently in waiting for my new 08' 3500 to arrive from the dealership. As i am aware that there is a cat like device and the DPF. Does anyone have part numbers or suggestion to do away with these power stealing noice reducing devices and with the code lights that would follow after removal of said devices. I had owned an 02' that i replaced with a banks complete exhaust minus the muffler. (mufflers are for old ladies). Any help suggestion will be appreciated.

Cheers,
John

Removing the DPF or modifying the engine control systems could out your powertrain warranty at risk, and could put your truck in violation of the emissions laws.

I've talked at length with the various people at both of our local Chevy & GMC dealerships. They have a dim view of truck owners modifying the LMM equipped trucks, and are now quite knowledgeable in spotting modifications. Some of this attitude is because of the new emissions components and the potential for problems. I do know that some of the folks at each dealership either drive modified LB7, LLY or LBZ trucks or like talking about it. So, their attitude is more a concern about the LMM than it is about mods in general.
