View Full Version : Stock Air Cleaner Housing
Want a stock air cleaner housing that will fit a 93 6.2. Really only need the lower portion with the app. 2"x5" snorkle. Or only the snorkle if you have it because that is all I really want.
Thanks. Reply here or send me a PM.

You shouldn't have any problem finding a snorkel. That's the part you should be removing, if you had one. Most remove them. The rest of us recommend you do. Poor airflow design. Very restrictive.
Well, maybe I used the wrong terminology but all that I want/need is the snorkel on the lower air cleaner housing but I will take whatever I am offered. This way I will double the air flow into the air cleaner. I have already removed the air box and restrictive connector on the passenger side and ran 4" duct directly into the fender well. And I plan to do the same on the driver's side but I need that snorkel off the bottom half of the air cleaner housing.

As Maverick said, most of us remove it and I did my Blazer a couple of years ago but also upgraded to the much larger Banks snorkel. I know I've got the other restrictive ductwork still sitting in the garage but I don't remember if I have the snorkel you need. I'll check tonight and let you know. I assume you are referring to the metal piece attached to the air cleaner, right?? I should everything else beyound that.
Subzilla,
Yes, when I said "snorkel" I was referring to the metal piece that attaches to the lower half of the air cleaner. I will take the whole lower half of the air cleaner if that is easier for you and also, the first flexible rubber piece that attaches to the metal "snorkel" on the lower half.
Today, on the lower half of the air cleaner, I cut out another hole on the driver's side about the same size as the hole on the pass. side. Using the SOTP (Seat Of The Pants) dyno, it seems to make a difference!?

Looked last night and I do NOT have the metal piece. I must have boogered it up when I cut it out and trashed it. I do have the flexible rubber piece that attaches to the air cleaner. I'll be glad to send it to you - just pm your address to me.
The Banks Stinger system involves enlarging the existing hole/snorkel on the existing air cleaner. In other words, cutting out the metal short snorkel, making a larger hole. And then attaching with screws their much larger snorkel with their much larger hose. It does seem to make a difference in power. I don't think they offer the just the intake/exhaust kit anymore but I think you can still get the individual parts. They do have the turbo kit.
Subzilla,
I appreciate you checking but I think you have given me an idea of modifying my flexible rubber piece and using it to attach a hose on the driver's side. Sorry but, thanks!
