Thought some of you might find it interesting that off road unlimited . com has a solid front axle kit for our trucks. Wish I had the money to do one....

1. Sky Manufacturing
2. Fabritech
3. Cage Offroad
4. Pure Performance (formerly Rock Krawler)
5. Off-Road Unlimited
6. Off-Road Direct

They aren't listed in any particular manner. There's plenty of feedback online about the kits these companies sell, so be sure to read up...

after looking into this SFA swap idea a lot more, it seems pretty doable, even for me. If you take the time to gather the parts it looks to me like this install would actually be easier and about the same as an ifs lift. Anyone have any experience with this? I reaally want to lift my truck, and it seems that if I can do the solid axle for close to the same price as the IFS it would be the way to go. Thanks.

I think ORU has the best kit out there. I may be biased though

I think I will go with their kit. Joeyd- I would love to see some pictures of your truck/install if you have any. I am looking to go about 5-6 inches and run 35's as well. How difficult was the install? My closest experience is installing a fully adjustable coilover kit in my 70 el camino.

I think the Cage Offroad kit is one of the best.
It's a radius arm kit

JoeyD-what size gears are you running wiht your 35's? Also, got any picks of the truck and install? How much lift are you running?

I don't have any pics of it. It was a very strait forward kit. One hard part was fabbing the downpipe. I had to cut it as it comes down and add some off sets to it to get it away from the spring hanger.
I run 4.10 gears and they are perfect for it I think. I have 3.5 in springs and the kit itself gives 2-3in of lift I think. I have the track bar and sway bar from ORU as well. Makes for a cleaner install and better handling set up. I went with OffRoad design for the crossover steering and added the high steer kit to get the everything above the leaf springs. No more bent tie rods or center link. Another area I may have went overboard with is a DynaTrac axle. That was not cheap but well worth it. Air locker and I have Longfield CV joints.
My next addition is hydro assist but time is short.
