Where can one put the temperature sensor on a 700R4 transmission?

You can place an adapter block in the tranny cooler line coming back from the cooler or you can buy a custom pan that has a port for the sender.

I prefer the return line as this tells the story about what the fluid is after the cooler.

You can also place the sender in the line going to the cooler as this will tell you what the working temp of the fluid is as it leaves the converter.

You really dont want to see temps above 250F for any period of time

You have several options.
Another nice way to do it is to install a return line filter setup that uses a spin on filter. These will catch any crap coming back from the cooler. These are also offered with a port for a temp sender.

Have fun

I put mine in the side of the pan.
