Thanks. It's a good idea to fill in your signature. Just go to "User CP" (link at the top of the page) and select "Signature". Include some vehicle details to make getting help a little easier and convenient.

Anyway, I don't think welding a stabilizer bar is a good idea. It will need to be heat treated to maintain it's torsion resistance. If the weld doesn't break, it will bend or twist as soon as the front wheels try to be independent, which is what they do. It shouldn't be too bad getting one from a recycler. There were several models that used the same bar. I have one, but you should be able to get one local cheaper than it would cost to ship.

You are welcome to the one I have if it will fit. It is on a gasser 1/2 ton pickup, but I couldn't find a difference between them, either. We'll be sure to verify that before handing over your first born to the shipper. It would help if you measure and post the tube diameter, length between the bends, the length between the mounting holes, and the length between the rubber mounts (you will also want to replace these with new, and I can help you with that).

:eek::eek:

Don't you have wrecking yards down there? No old car graveyards where you could pick one up?

I know there are a couple 2500 Suburbans at our local pull-a-part. If you can't source one locally, you might be able to motivate me to pull one and ship it to you.

"just go down to the local grave yard" i know of one being wrecked in australia at the moment it is a gasser,that is 600 k's away,the other a diesel is 400k's the other way and he wants 4000$ for a roller[no motor or gearbox] and wont seperate anything from it ,so you can see my problem.................

there were only 286 diesels bought in australia in 98,99,2000 and they can still fetch up wards of 35 -40,000$ in yards
