Howdy
Taking the truck in to the shop in the morning to get the timing set. What is the best to set it to? I did not put the gear drive back in as the timing double roller chain was brand new. I'll put gears back in when I have to replace the pump again!
Thanks !

you referring to TDC offset -1.94 is what JK recommends several others run there as well, mine is at -1.5 broke my wrench while going for -1.94 (long story) stopped at -1.5, fixed the wrench runs well enough as is never bothered with it again.

What is the procedure for setting the timing?

If you run the truck at -1.94 then you really should have a pyrometer in also. The EGT's can get out of control.
A setting of -1.50 is good too. The difference isn't really much except for the extra "rattle" when cold. The first setting is good for the performance minded.
