As a good Minnesotan, I religiously use SeaFoam and Sta-bil for fuel treatment on small gas engines, both 2 and 4 cycle.

Recently, I noticed the dreaded wisps of smoke at idle on the 2002. With only ~90K miles on the second set of injectors, and waaaaay out of warranty, I was certain that a trip back to the stealership would soon be in order. Tried many diesel supplements off the shelf while running to Florida to no avail. Mileage and power were great, no oil dilution.

Picked up a can of SeaFoam, read the directions and it said it was safe for diesels.

Added it to 1/2 tank of diesel (so more concentrated treatment) and ran it near empty before refilling with straight #2. Smoke at idle completely gone.

Whatever injector was stuck, isn't stuck anymore. Keeping my fingers crossed - the next 7,000 mile thrash from FL to WA should tell the tale.
