I am doing the front brakes on my 1999 K2500 Suburban and when I got the rotor seperated from the hub it was apparent that the outer hub seal was leaking grease. The bearings otherwise seam fine, the grease inside is clean. Are the seals in the hubs replaceable? Does anyone know what seal I need (part #) and how the hub comes apart.

Thanks,
Bill

I do not believe that hub is serviceable. It is a sealed unit.

The hub is a sealed unit, but you can grease it. I use a rubber/vinyl hose that I can squeeze in the ABS sensor hole and shoot grease in that way.

time to change it, hopefully you can get them aftermarket When I needed them they were on national back order and I had to buy them from the dealer

I ordered two from Rockauto for $194 each. It sucks that you now have to spend $400 to replace two $5 seals.

That is pretty good. What kind of warranty do you get? I think AutoZone and Advance have them for around $250 with 1 year, which I think blows considering it is a sealed unit.

Jtodd, I got the Timken hubs and they are warranted for 1 year.

Is the seal the seals between the where the cv outer cv shaft goes through the caliper bracket replaceable?

Not on an IFS (such as your 97). The hub/bearing/seal is an assembly, and not serviceable, other than adding some grease, as described above.
