After 4 years of towing a 10,000 boat, it's finally time to change my brake pads. Although the stock pads worked just fine, I would't mind upgrading...if possible. Anyone have rx for replacement brake pads?

Of the last several GMCs that I have had, the OEM pads have served me quite well...

I have gotten around 100k on each set. Several here will also second the OEM pads.

We like Okibono ceramic pads with Raybestos rotors. Have them on all corners of the '02 K2500 and just the rears of the '06 K3500 that were installed last week after using up two OEM sets in 90K miles of heavy towing duty.

Recently observed about 50% pad remaining on the 2002 K2500, and there are 70K commercial boat towing miles on!!! It will be very interesting to see how the rears do in the '06 K3500 as it lives in front of a PJ 25' 14K gooseneck that tows/delivers 5-10 tons of cargo daily around the Twin Cities and surrounding area - severe duty if there is such a definition.

OEM stuff is good quality - but there are better parts out there if you tow heavy and often. Whatever you do - don't go NAPA we shredded a set of whatever junk they are selling in about 30K and the pads had literally separated and fell apart...looked like cooked pressed sawdust.
