View Full Version : NO Fuel in my Secondary Filter

Truck broke down on the interstate today. Cruising at 60mph, there was a puff of white smoke and the truck just quit.

I thought it might be a clogged filter. The primary is fine. There was no fuel in the secondary though . I thought i might have a clogged line in b/tw the primary and secondary - nope. line is clean.

The solenoid on the IP is working or at least i can hear it clicking when i turn the ignition on.

Now. I'm stumped. I replaced the mechanical lift pump about 1 1/2 years ago. So, I imagine it's still good.

QUESTIONS:

1)could Biodiesel (which is what i've been running for almost 2 years) disintegrate the material that makes of the diaphragm in the LP?

2) should lines pulse around the LP even if there is no fuel in the unit? It is not pulsing like it usually does.

3) Is this an LP issue?

Confused and will appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

It must be either out of fuel or the LP is bad again. Broken (plugged) fuel line to the tank? Fill the tank to the top and see if the lift punp can pass fuel.

Thanks for the input.

Man, fillin' up the tank is hard these days. even if i do make my own fuel most of the time.

I'll give it a whirl though. thank you.
