So, you've changed your glow plugs to the ac60g's and/or changed to a low compression engine, now you have white smoke at start-up. Well lengthening your glow cycle is easier than you think, I've done this on my 95 before I traded it in, now I thought I'd let you guys know how it's done. I've added a 2200uF 16v capacitor to the signal line from the ecm. Positive lead on capacitor to the signal line from the ecm and other line to ground. This will give you about 15 sec of glow. Adding 2 capacitors of this size will give you about 20 sec of glow. You get the picture if you want more glow time. No momentary pushbuttons needed.

Oh yeah, and it never set a code.

How did you set it up on your 95? I've got a 95 that needs more glow time due to 60g plugs. start hard first thing in the am every time. glow time is very unpredictable.

thanks

Dave

I disassembled my glow plug controller and soldered the capacitor inside the controller. Just two leads to hook up. The positive on the signal from the ecm, and the other on the ground. They are both accessible inside the controller.

What color is the wire that you are connecting to?

Not sure anymore, sold the truck months ago.
