I find out my t-case Auto On Demand 4wd NP 246 is made from magnesium and actually has a life span of 150,000 miles, w/o maintance, slightly more with. Cases in need of repair cannot be welded. So, Any of you know what t-case can be fitted in its place that is not magnesium, as in direct bolt in, or?

A recent issue of four wheeler had all that info on transfer cases that work with these trucks.Shouldn't be too hard to dig up.If not, i'd just call a local dealer, maybe they can shed some light,if theyre knowledgable. There is definately a few transfer cases that work with these trucks and I would think would be a bolt on fit.As for the wiring, thats another story,if your going from push button to manual shift.

The NP-241 is what GM used for all manually shifted 6.2/6.5 transfer cases from about 1988-on. These were used in all 1500/2500/3500 series trucks. Don't know about input shaft differences.

If you want an electric shift t-case, you'll need a new TCSCM (Transfer Case Shift Control Module) and pushbutton switch.

Not sure what electric shift 2-speed transfer case GM used in 99.
