My 98 GM started to stall intermittently, engine would surge at idle. OK, I thought.. new IP.
Phoned the local Chevy dealer, he says bring it in. Here's what he did:

Scanned for codes, phoned TAC, replacement OK.
Removed fuel tank, cleaned and reinstall.
Replace lift pump.
Replace OPS.
Replace fuel filter.
Replace IP.
Replace fuel cap.
Flush cooling system, replace coolant.
Add fuel conditioner.
Set timing and road test.

My cost? 99.95 for the cooling system flush and fuel cap. Everything else GM warranty. I can see why this guy always gets GM's top award for service. :D :D

Could this be true, finally an honest stealer..opps dealer. I had the same done on my 97 minus the coolant, but the dealer tried to nail for the tank removal and flush. $300 +. After I protested in front of his customers I was never charged.

Why the coolant replacement, was this something you asked for or a dealer decision?

Sounds like a dealer you should post the name of so others in your area can deal with them. Good dealers are hard to find.

Sound like a dealer to stay with.
