Got a 93 6.5TD with a blown head Gasket. Looking at the catalogs for gaskets and sets (Fel-Pro) the descriptions are confusing. The head set does not contain head gaskets??? Does anyone have a list of the gasket/gasket set numbers necessary to replace head gaskets, waterpump and timing chain/gears? Also does the head set have the head bolts or not?

billg Thanks for the reply. Yeah I would appreciate all the information you care to pass on. My '93 truck has 150K miles so, since I have to tear it down anyway, I am going all the way. New fan clutch and fan (old clutch failed in Houston traffic so I overheated the engine), cooling mods timing chain and gears, rebuild injection pump and injectors, new glow plugs. Please give me the reference for the crack repair. Until this happened, I have been just driving the truck and not tinkering with it so have not kept up with all the info on these engines.

billg: Thanks for the info. Keep me in mind on that KL-3900 kit. I suspect that I will have to go that way too. My truck got really hot until I could get out of traffic and shut down. Fortunately I had a friends house close by so I did not have to leave it along side the freeway. That's a invitation to have it stripped, in Houston anyway.

Hi Scooby,

Repair measure to counter act the hairline cracks that form between the valve seats. If you have the heads off it's a worthwhile effort.
