Am I in over my head? Looking for a manual online, and lots of tips.
Just got the replacements in the mail and ready to move fwd.
Only going to replace #6 & #7(dont even know the postions of them yet).
The diagnostic showed #7 failed and #6 Partially failed. Also could build no full rail pressure, only 154MPA.
Any tips diagrams would be helpful

Thanks,

F

You won't do any better than that, online or in print. Unless, of course, you insist on a paper/ink solution.

The banks are opposite that of previous GM V-8 engines. 2-4-6-8 is on the left/driver side, 1-3-5-7 is on the right/passenger side. 1 and 2 are the front cylinders.

154 MPA is more than plenty to run. The Number 7 is the right rear injector (Passenger side). The Number 6 is the third one back on the driver side. The high pressure lines are torqued to 30 ft lbs. The injector hold down bolts are torqued to 22 ft lbs. You will need 12 mm socket for the injectors, 17mm wrench for the injector lines. Possibly a T-30 torx for the engine harness. Basically you need your typical Japanese engine tools ........... 10, 12, 14, 17, 19 mm. Good luck. ;)

wondering, are the injectors on the block or under the valvecovers like my cummins.

They are outside of the rocker covers aticking through the center of the head.

Replaced #7 injector this evening and no more knocking noises from the valve...just let me run this by you, #7 had -7 ballance and #6 had +4 ballance.

Before I replace #6 is it necessary to replace #6 (is +4 ballance good or bad)? And any other tips on the 2 4 6 8 side?

The lly seemed very easy so far and thanks for your previous tips!

Balance rates should be 0 mm +/- 4.5 in P/N and 0 +/- 6.5 in gear.

for the fuel line that daisy chains between the injectors. This T connects to the top of the injector where the wires connect. Must be a dealer item?...cause none of the parts stores have it, right?

That's correct. It comes as a complete hose/ fitting assembly. You need to specify right or left bank.

for a fitting?...How nice, pretty costly?

I don't recall the price. Might try a U-pull it yard.
